MCA Youth urges Information Ministry to continue airing “What Say You” or similar talk show over RTM ...

MCA Youth National Chairman Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong chaired its first 2008-2011 Central Committee meeting today at Wisma MCA. During the press conference to the media after the meeting, Ka Siong announced that after a thorough discussion, the meeting has unanimously decided to set up additional bureaus in the wing to strengthen and improve the efficiency of the mechanism and operation in the wing. The new bureaus are Political Education Bureau, Legal Affairs & Parliamentary Legislature Research Bureau, Anti Drugs & Environmental Affairs Bureau, Vocational Training Bureau and NGO Liaison Bureau.

Next, Ka Siong expressed that the meeting has also decided to set up a Monitoring and Public Delivery Working Committee to be headed by the wing’s Deputy Chairman Dr Mah Hang Soon. The committee will be entrusted with the responsibilities to monitor and study the formulation of government policies or any bills to recognize any weaknesses before it is going to be presented in the Parliament for approval.

On another matter, Ka Siong announced that a working committee to be headed by the wing’s Vice-Chairman Sdr. Wilfred Yong Chen Leong and Sdr. Wyman Yoo Wei How together with seven other Youth Under 35-years old committee members to conduct discussions with Wanita MCA on coming out with concrete measures to attract more youths regardless of gender to join any wings that they prefer.

Lately, Ka Siong told the media that the wing had received many complaints over the problems faced by local suppliers in supplying their goods to the hypermarket operators. He added that local suppliers had been forced by some hypermarket operators to contribute a substantial sum of money of RM5,000 towards the printing fee of their publicity materials such as brochures and flyers. He added that the local suppliers had no choice but to obey the instructions given by such operators in exchange of receiving the balance of the payment for providing goods to them.

Ka Siong reiterated that MCA Youth will not tolerate such actions and therefore urged the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry look into this matter on any abuse of power by the hypermarket operators on local suppliers. Such action will only hurt the businesses of local suppliers and small traders in the country.

Referring to the talk show “What Say You” being taken off from RTM2 last Sunday, Ka Siong told the media that he had discussed the issue with Information Minister Dato' Ahmad Shabery Cheek and he was being informed that RTM is currently undergoing restructuring and rebranding process and the show will be given a new facelift. During the discussion, he urged the Information Minister to continue airing the talk show or similar programs in view of the strong viewership and support from the Chinese community. Through the talk show, Ka Siong added that it provides a good platform for different people from various walks of life including politicians with different ideologies to gather together to discuss and debate on various issues affecting the interest of the people. The public could also through this program shares and exchanges their views on various topics as presented in the show weekly.

公正党与行动党向回教党妥协,雪发展局经理只委土著…

(吉隆坡-2日讯)马青总团长魏家祥今天对雪州州务大臣卡立只会委任土著出任雪州发展局总经理的决定感到遗憾,更表示这意味着公正党与行动党无法制衡回教党的宗教种族极端主义。


卡立日前说,委任刘秀梅为发展局代总经理(Acting General Manager)是经过周全考虑后才作的决定,但经过雪州回教党主席哈山阿里的抗议之后,就对这个决定有了180度的转变。他不止宣布刘秀梅只是担任暂代总经理(Covering General Manager),而且还强调出任雪州发展局总经理的人选,一定是土著。


也是副教育部长的魏家祥质问,民联声称将不分种族对待全民,为何在人事委任方面,却一味强调委任土著?


他进一步指出,在民联成立初期,针对回教党欲成立回教国的立场,行动党与公正党皆表示可以制衡回教党,确保大马的世俗体制不会改变。但是,最近的几个事件,如吉打州50%房屋固打保留给土著以及雪州委任发展局总经理事件,我们都看到了行动党与公正党对回教党采取妥协的态度,不敢以行动表示反对。


为了保住政权,行动党与公正党可以放弃原则,对回教党的极端政策妥协。若有一天民联执政中央,难道行动党与公正党又要向回教党妥协,成立神权回教国?


魏家祥呼吁有良知的民联议员不要向回教党屈服,应当勇敢地站出来对民联最近的不当政策说不。他也要求安华与林冠英以党魁的身份出面干涉此事,以免行动党的CAT政策以及公正党的全民公正沦为政治笑话。
