Today, is Malaysia remaining the standard of UNITY as that time while this country was first granted independent? NO. The Answer is NO more. Today, suspicious existed among Chinese, Indians and Malays. They didn’t respect each other as before, don’t have any unity among them, they scold each other, insult each other, and they are like enemy rather than family, rather than brothers and sisters even though live in the same family, the Malaysia. Why all these happened?
Some of our brothers and sisters even said the Chinese, Indians are PENUMPANG of this country, outsiders of this country, strangers to this country. Some of them even too much! They said want to colour their own brothers and sisters (Chinese) blood with Kris, some of them asked their brothers and sisters out of this land, this family. Balik ke China. They don’t know all these will hurt their fellow Brothers and sisters; they can’t seek for the unity existed between us 51 years ago, when we all strived for the independent together. Malaysia is our home, together with the Malays and Indians, our family members; we feel the warm of the home, the happiness.
Unfortunately, the feeling now is so so empty to us, though we are all Malaysian (the I.C. approved us as the Malaysian, all these only paper says), but Chinese and Indians can feel the warm now anymore. We are like secondary citizen to Malaysia, like the maid to this country! Even the Indonesian maid received much much better treatment compare with us. Our rights are not well-protected under the Malaysian Federal Constitution, which is the highest law of the land, even we want 10% status, the placement in the UiTM which is the university specifically setup for the non-bumi, we are told that don’t have the necessity. Chinese, Indians got the university owned by MCA (UTAR, TARC), MIC(AIMST), in fact all these are private colleges and universities which are totally independent from the government. UiTM is the Public University subsidy by government as Chinese and Indians are also taxpayers as well. We are not deserved for the 10%? Public universities’ placement based on quota, as well as the JPA scholarship. Isn’t it should be based on the eligibility? Why based on quota? It’s Ridiculous. No more talking about Chinese and Indians got the chance to be the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and no talking at all about the Prime Minister, all these seem long long distance for us.
During the 51th Malaysia Birthday, I would like to express all these on behalf of all Malaysian Chinese, as well as the Malaysia, Malaysia not just meant for the Malays, not here to put forward the derogatory statements, not here to provoke, seditious our relationship but to seek for the unity, seek for the prosperity. Today, the world is headed forward to the globalization, no more racism, no more racial discrimination if Malaysia wanna to compete with other countries in the international arena, not just being the ’Kampung Champion’. Malays, Chinese and Indians are family. We are brothers and sisters in a family. Should be tolerance to each other, understanding should be existed between us, respect as well. One phrase In Malay language: ‘Mempertahankan maruah bangsa kita bukan dengan menekan bangsa lain.’; Protect our own races not meant to insult other races. If doing it by this way, it would be immoral, no tolerance, cheap and just make yours people ashamed not other races. Today, nothing can be obstruct us to enter the new era, even Obama, the black is headed forward the realm being the First Black President of United State. Why not Malaysia? One day may be with the leadership of Chinese, Indian become the Deputy Prime Mister of Malaysia, even the Prime Minister, they are able to drive Malaysia to the climax. Who eligible to the throne, who deserve it! Colour of skin, races shouldn’t be the factors of it.
Let us traced back to why Malaysia is forming successfully 51 years ago. Let all of us want to seek for the democracy, unity and prosperity together of the Malaysia. Let us say ‘NO’ to the racial discrimination. Let us drive Malaysia to another climax as the Malaysians. We are all Rakyat Malaysia! Happy Birthday Malaysia! Let us shout ‘Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!’ together wholeheartedly based on we are from one family, as we are brothers and sisters! Malaysians, ready! 1,2,3 ~ Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka! We love Malaysia. Happy Independent, Happy Merdeka Day to every Malaysians! I love Malaysia, I love you all……
Your Sincerely,
Sit Jie Hao
