Minorities cry foul in Malaysia

“March 29, 2010 — Najib Abdul Razak, Malaysia's prime minister, is set to present on Tuesday a new economic policy, a controversial socio-economic initiative that aims to give equal treatment to all ethnic groups in the country.
But for decades many ethnic Chinese and Indian groups have long grieved of institutionalised discrimination and alleged the country's ethnic majority enjoy special advantages in housing, education and employment.
Waves of ethnic Chinese and Indians left the country between 2008 and 2009 to seek a better life abroad.
Although Najib is vowing equality for all, minority communities are pessimistic.
Laura Kyle reports from Kuala Lumpur. [March 29, 2010]

Res Ipsa Loquitur (the fact speak for itself), the New Economic Policy (NEP) has proven to be a failure and would be an obstacle for integration of nations. The introduction of NEP has caused a lot of unequal treatment to the minorities, i.e. Indians, Chinese, Sikh in Malaysia, not only that, it actually detriment to the interest of low income group of Malays and side towards the best interest of middle class, upper middle class of Malays in Malaysia. What to talk about buying a house or a car with 5%, 10% of discount if basic 3 meals per day would be a problem for a family? What to talk about being high management in a multinational company while education would be a fundamental problem for those families never educated?

Our current Prime Minister, Najib Abdul Razak has made a good start in attempting to abolish NEP to give equal treatment to all ethnic groups in Malaysia. While minorities are cheered up, there is opposing side of Malays Pressure Group ~ PERKASA, which strongly speaks against such a good move introduced by our Prime Minister, Najib.

Ibrahim Ali, President of PERKASA showed his rudeness while interviewing his opinions about the abolition of NEP. ‘Don’t talk sh*t x 3 times’. His attitude alike those who illiterate and perhaps those who illiterate well-behaved much much more than him. He questioned who minorities in Malaysia want and he dictated that Malays have sacrificed lots for them.

Here, I would like to repeat again racism is anachronism even a century ago. Before independent and during colonies era, every race lived ever peace and happily, nobody questioning and dictated about disadvantages of ‘MIXED MARRIAGES’ bla bla bla… That is why there were marriages between Baba & Nyonya. In today’s world, it is an offence of racial discrimination to mention the phrase of ‘MIXED MARRIAGES’ in United States. It’s the extremist like ‘PERKASA’ actually ‘MEMPERKOSAKAN’ the fundamental rights which the minorities deserved with the greed heart and mind. In return, they almsgiving few from mountains of what they currently have to you all. When the country ~ MALAYSIA, our beloved motherland was declared independent, the forum been participated by representatives from 3 Major Races, their leaders were Tan Cheng Lock, Tunku Abdul Rahman etc. While UK granting independence to all of us, they wish to see the integration of the country as a conditional independence, this is the evidence that Malays are not an Island! They got brothers, sisters from the family which is Chinese, Indians and subsequently Kadazan, Iban with the joining of Sarawak and Sabah!

Well, Malaysia belongs to Malaysians but not particular races. Integration is the minimum power force moving towards perfection. SAY ‘NO’ TO RACISM and we discriminate against RACIST. Salam 1 MALAYSIA and we proud because we are all Malaysians.
